About SANOS

We are your guide, your support, and your community on the path to a healthier life.

Our History

SANOS non-profit
organization

We are a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive physical and mental health services to the community of Caguas and the East Central Region of Puerto Rico. Our history began on June 5, 2005, when we were incorporated into the Department of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Under the presidency of the Honorable William Miranda Marín, rememberedMayor of the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas and with the collaboration of volunteers representing the municipal government, educational institutions and private companies, our first Board of Directors was formed..

On March 1, 2006, we took an important step by appointing Ms. Elba Vázquez Cardín as executive director and established our offices in the iconic Dr. Gabriel Jiménez Sanjurjo Building, the former Municipal Hospital in Caguas. Since then, we've been operating according to a strategic plan that aligns with the city's objectives.

Our History

SANOS is a beacon
of hope in the community

SANOS It is a beacon of hope in the community, receiving federal funding under Section 330 of the Public Health Act to provide medical care to public housing residents, the homeless, and those without health insurance.

This means that, regardless of their situation, people can access our services by paying according to their income and family composition. As proud members of the Puerto Rico Primary Health Association, we are proud to be part of a network dedicated to comprehensive healthcare. Your health and well-being are our priority, and our history is a testament to our commitment to the community.

When it comes to Comprehensive Health, we are the ones.
We know what you're looking for in your health, and that's why
we offer you all the possibilities and treatments.
Executive Director Message

SANOS Corporation is and will be a community health center.

It is the community we serve, and our commitment is based on the basic elements of community: the importance of the family in society, our grandparents, and the good relationships that must exist between young and old to face the events of the present. Collective and community well-being is achieved through the small, positive changes in the pursuit of peace, harmony, tolerance, and forgiveness that each individual makes in the hope of a better future.

SANOS is also science, and from this clinical perspective, grounded in knowledge and up-to-date information to make evidence-based decisions, we will have greater success. Scientific evidence highlights the importance of a positive, reciprocal experience between patient and provider. This experience leads to better outcomes, greater satisfaction, time savings, and lower risk of stress and burnout. It is also the key to identifying and addressing needs, as well as opportunities for change that promote the health and quality of life of our people.

As an organization, we are committed to continuing to refine this analogy between community and science, to continuing to adopt technology that contributes to health care, but above all, to listening, observing, and giving our full attention to those who entrust us with the privilege of helping them.
